I need some input... I am looking for a facility (not a church) anywhere between uptown Charlotte and the Cornelius area to have a wedding ceremony. cost is a factor, so I am thinking it may have to be an out of the box idea but I am open.
Are there any buildings with capacity for 100 and are nice enough that perhpaps aren't generally used for weddings but that could be?
You can rent out the banquet room at the Sardis Swim Club for $475 for six hours (bring your own caterer).
Sorry, I don't have the website address. Maybe you can "google" it.
St. Mary's Chapel on E 3rd St in downtown Charlotte! It's where we had our ceremony. Very reasonable in cost as it's owned by the city but books up quickly. Here's a link:
I have also seen weddings at Col. Francis Beatty Park (there's a hall and a nice lake) which is in South Charlotte near the Siskey YMCA/Matthews area:

This place was beautiful. We went for a Memorial Ceremony/Life Celebration for a friend that passed away. It is off Statesville Rd, near Reames Rd. We were commenting on how lovely this place would be for a wedding.

We got married here about 5 years ago and loved it. The owner was great and did alot to help keep costs down. He usually works as the DJ and let us supply the bar with whatever we wanted. All in all, we had a great time and received many compliments on the venue. DM me if you want more information. I'd definitely recommend you check it out.
Do any of the galleries in NoDa rent their space? If you found one that you liked the art you could save money on flowers!
I've definitely heard of people doing this in other cities, but here I'm not sure. Maybe the NoDa website would have more info. NoDa Home - Charlotte's Historic Arts District
Best of luck!
