I tend to believe that as well. With four or five million people showing up at the inauguration and the amount of people who'll be watching at home, I'd say less police would be needed in various parts of the country and more needed in one particular spot.

As far as people celebrating...well, not in this household.

Well, as long as they will allow this to stay on board and not move to Pol. sub forum let me ask the obvious question:

YES WE CAN. . . do what? Catchy buzz words. Cute. But, plezzzzze, explain to me. . . do what?

I'm glad you decided to take the high road on your post. Just because YOU got the president YOU want doesn't mean everyone did. He simply said he wouldnt be celebraing- and in typical liberal fashion, he was assaulted for it. Have to question a President who steals his motto "YES WE CAN" from Bob the Builder...

Which is fine. I intend on showing Obamalama the same high level of respect Bush has been shown for the last 8 years.

Meaning if you're easily offended, stay far, far, far out of my way.

But hey..to keep the topic on track at least we know that the CMeck police will be going where there's the greatest chance of criminal activity...away from the city of Charlotte and over to the Mall in DC.

Wow...that speaks volumes about the type of people they must be figuring will show up.

So don't worry I don't think we'll have a spike in crime because a few cops are gone. If you think about it crime is high everyday.
Yeah, they actually have around 1700 so I'm sure others will be covering the shifts of those going to Washington. But advertizing that that many officers will be gone just seemed like a bad idea incase it gives the impression to criminals that no one is minding the store that day!
