For those of you who live in Union and work in the city of Charlotte, what is the commute time? Or just as well, how many miles?

Monroe is the biggest city in Union county and is pretty much in the center of the county. There is a hospital there, Union Regional Medical Center and plenty of doctors offices around. You will find more affordable areas in your price range there for sure

Hi Robyn,

There are medical facilities in Blakeney, Ballantyne and Pineville. Either of these would be a short commute from areas in north western Union County. You should be ok.

I drove from Waxhaw to South park last Friday as we are looking to relocate to this area. It took an 1:10 hr starting a 7:00. North of Weddington seem extremely slow to 485. How long before the road is widened.

Commuting hours are longer..if you hit it just right you can do it..my husband leaves before rush hour and it takes about 20 minutes or so to get to SW from Indian Trail.

My husband makes this commute everyday. First hint: Avoid I-485 and Providence Rd at all costs during rush hour. That little stretch between I-485 and Union County is a killer.

My husband takes Marvin Rd (at New Town) to Johnston Rd to Park Rd/Park South (at Fairview). Even so, in rush hour you can never predict back-ups due to accidents, etc. I think he can make the trip in about 45 minutes from the area around the new Marvin Ridge school complex. The time of day makes a big difference.
