Movie Filmed in Charlotte in the 1940's
My brother was cast in a movie filmed in Charlotte when he was around five years old. This would have been in the early 1940s. It involved a gang of young kids, maybe along the lines of "The Little Rascals". Does anyone have any memory of this or suggestions how I might could get info on it?

I'm not sure, but there may be a way to search on The Internet Movie Database (IMDb), they seem to be the best source for movie info.

I checked around and came upon this site...
Greatest Films of 1940
I wonder if the library or public records would have any record of permits issued to movie studios for filming in Charlotte.

There was a film, "Pitch a Boogie Woogie" (1947) . . . filmed in Greenville, NC, but I can't find any reference to part of it being filmed in Charlotte . . . info on that film.
However, there is a reference book on filmography in NC . . . 1905-2000 . . . and that may be the best way to track down the film.

I looked on The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) for all the films they had listed as being filmed in NC but didn't find any older ones. Without some more information about the plot you will probably have a hard time tracking this one down.
There is also a Movie forum under General Forums, Entertainment.

Perhaps you could check with the local historical society? Even if they don't have an official archive about that sort of thing they should be able to point you in the direction of a few local history buffs!
