I used to work out in the Y located in the jukebox looking Wachovia building uptown. Not suburban at all. Mostly young professionals. The Gateway Y is also uptown.

Default Health Clubs

We moved here from DFW a year ago. We we members at the local Lifetime Fitness. I have spoken to the corporate office at Lifetime and they are non-commital on future NC expansion. I have been told to keep checking online for new locations. Lifetime has future openings listed on the website as far out as Fall "08 but no Charlotte at this time.

In the meantime, we have found the Siskey YMCA to be a great alternative. Good classes (lots of them!) decent equiptment and a great atmosphere like most everything else in Charlotte.

There is a life time fitness opened over on Indep. There is a 24 hour Snap Fitness on Elm Ln. The concept of gyms coming in that are 24/7 is taking off in Charlotte! Where do you live? Maybe I can let you know what is closer to where you are. Good luck!

I no longer go to Peak fitness. We were there for a year and paid way too much (admittedly, they have lots of free weights), but they also have that $25/person every January and September for a supposedly equipments updates.
