Only a bargain if they can sell their existing house!

Sellers are just going to have to get right w/ the universe and accept that they must price their houses accordingly or expect to hold on to them for another year. That is a difficult situation for someone who has been transferred to another location - or for someone who has lost his/her job and needs to unload real estate. No easy answers.

VERY TRUE!!!! And for most of us . . . now would definitely not be an optimal time to have to face selling our homes.

I would like to sell our home next year. I really don't think it will happen now.

We are also taking a hard look at the renovations/remodeling we had planned to do and are scaling back quite a bit. I just don't think we will get our money out of all of it. Some of it we will, but we are going to let other things go.

I hope you find much enjoyment in owning your home. As others have said - it is your HOME!!!! I need to have a home (own a home) to feel secure. That is just me. Plus, I like living in a contained separate space, not an apartment. So for some of us, a home is our haven. I love decorating, so my house is more than just a house - it is the place where I create my own little world.
