We have friends that moved there near the track and they are disappointed. They can't get anywhere when there's a race going on. They also live in a neighborhood where races keep to themselves and don't mingle. That bothers them. Otherwise, they like being close to the shopping at Concord Mills Mall but, then again, that can be a nightmare around Christmas time and on Saturdays.

I also know that Harrisburg is drilling for water, don't know if they've had any luck with it or not. Because of the whole water issue, I'd be concerned about Harrisburg, Concord, and Kannapolis. Concord and Kannapolis received the rights to take a million gallons a day out of Lake Norman, and many in NC and SC are up in arms over that. SC is threatening to sue NC over the fiasco. Water is a concern to me and I don't know if I'd want to be involved in towns with problems with water. We had a lot of problems in FL over water, mandatory conservation, high prices, etc. I don't want to be involved in that again!

Question niknaxx

How much of a problem is water down there ? How about private wells, have you ever heard of anyone having their well dry up ? As we look for a place to retire in a somewhat rural area down there, wells and septics concern me.

Thanks, Bill
