I have a home that my husband says I need to rent out . I would like to bypass a property management company and do everything on my own. Does anyone know how I would go about getting a credit check done on potential renters?
Thanks for any leads and advice!!
~Vicki

If I'm not mistaken, there are a few places online (most of the same places you'd do a personal check on yourself) that will do it for you.

Just do a Google search on "tenant credit check."

I hope I'm not pointing out something you already know, but there is a whole board devoted to rentals/landlord/tenant issues here on city data. I've read some of it since we will be renting our house out in a couple years. Tons of valuable advice, also some horror stories to make you think twice, but at least you will know what to expect!

Personally, we will be going with a property management company since it's only 10% of the rent and we'll be out of state, but more power to you for going it alone, good luck!
