Charlotte To Annex Denver?
I have seen other cities step out of their county and annex land in another county. This could be scenario could happen to unincorporated Denver The benefit ? County taxes are lower and the draw to the area .
How could this be done? Most of Mountain Island lake is already in Charlotte district and the line could be drawn right up the west side of the lake . Denver seems to refuse to incorporate itself and with power hungry cities like Charlotte and Huntersville which seems now to be concentrating on developing it's east side it would make more since for Charlotte the powerful to annex this area for the extra tax base

Yeah, but Charlotte has an agreement with surrounding counties not to annex across the Mecklenburg County line I believe Sunny.

This would be interesting document to study.
Who would have it Register of Deeds?
I bet it been look through on in the last 10 years with Huntersville setting it boundaries etc.
I was just curious if this could happen since Denver IMO is in a vulnerable situation. I already watch some oodles of communities that no choice in either incoporate or be annex in the triad area of all places.

Is there a source for this, or a speculation? Coming from a mod, folks could take this as gospel...and it should be defined when this is not an actual news bit from the mouth of a councilman, or when it is.
Let's not stir up the government conspiracists just yet.

In all fairness, the header did sound like an actual news report.

your judging my members decision not moderator actions I take ..
Big difference two different members.
Ovious when you read my post that Im building a possible scenario and it could happen if Denver remains unincorporated.
Here is a city who the local home values have tripled with the last 10 years, experience growth more than double of a normal growing city, strains the county sheriff and fire to keep up this unannex city has already taken over the hamlet of Lowesville so it border stretches from 150 to 73.
Personally I think it would be more ideal for Huntersville due to closeness and could offer more affordable lake homes.

Not trying to call you out Sunny, just reminding you that you're tagged with a bright star next to your name...and folks may take your words as gospel. Stories like these can lead to spite toward the local government...which is not needed. If you think layoffs and hard times are hitting the city, wait until you have a government that while trying to balance everything and make sure we weather relatively undamaged starts getting unfair criticism. It's like making setting fireworks off in the face of a person juggling chainsaws. Not really necessary.
Again, not trying to be a punk about it, but your thread title looks like an Observer article title.
