Probably why one of the posters/bloggers on here mentioned Atlanta/urban. Funny.

I mentioned Atlanta b/c I have seen your posts and knew you were from Atlanta and assumed that you were comparing Birkdale to some part of Atlanta.

Glad you found that funny.

I think I found my answer. What's urban to one may not be urban to another. BTW, I think Birkdale is nice.

I love Birkdale! I also love all the new fake towns, outdoor malls, town centers, villages, new urbanism, whatever you want to call them!

True urban living does not always work out well for some but this way you can still live walking distance to things and not use your car as much but not be in the heart of a city.

That might not diminish its appeal for some people, but it surely diminishes its urbanity.

Urban suggest area's where minorities moved into after whites moved out. Urban also suggest hip, cool, cuitting edge, city.

Case in point, a few miles down the street from Birkdale village there are trailer homes - some with confederate flags.
Easy to figure out. "Sub" means before. Urban means city. Suburban means before city. So it is pretty easy to figure out tha urban means city. Glad to see that there are those still proud to be southern and flying their confederate flags.

"Sub" means "under." "Pre" means "before."
