Y, 2004 was the last snow worth talking about, even by Charlotte standards.
In 2000 or 2001 we had a great one, 12" or so.

Wish I was there to see it. I have been in New York down and thru the midwest the last few days, had plenty snow (more tonight) but it's different when you're at home, especially in CLT. Here is the latest forecast from NOAA's National Weather Service
Forecast for Charlotte, NC
Tonight: Rain before 8pm, then snow, possibly mixed with rain between 8pm and 11pm, then snow after 11pm. Low around 26. North wind between 5 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Tuesday: A chance of snow showers before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. North wind between 10 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
If it is a snow event, I would stay off the roads. Even if they use salt/plows, they aren't used to it enough to keep the roads clean.

Looking like it could be a bust for the area.

Why do you say that? Last I heard, it's still coming?
The Weather Channel says it's 100% still coming too?

We have bread.
We have milk.
We have veggies.
We have cereal.
We have hot chocolate mix.
We have coffee.
We have fruit.
We have granola bars.
We have Lance Smokehouse cheddar.
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
Oops! I forgot to back my car into the driveway so I can get a running go to make it up the hill. Guess we will be staying home.

Well, I'm the boss (unfortunately sometimes), so I will be in the office one way or the other at 0600.
If it does snow, I'll come home midday and play with the kids a few hours though!

Bite your tongue. We want major so the children in the area don't have to take those tests and get to use the snow sleds they got for Christmas. I love being a Grandma. My grandchild was getting snow today and was upset she didn't get a day off extra because it was a holiday already.

If it isn't a bust, I expect snow to start around 3-4am.

You got it kiddo! Isn't retirement great? It puts you in the permanent state of mind of a kid, seeing the snow getting deep enough, that you know you're not going to school tomorrow! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! We're kinda overdue for a decent amount of snow anyway! We're still young enough to go out and make a snow angel or two!
