Where is there a good selection of hardwood lumber for building furniture and other wood projects in the Mint Hill, Matthews, Monroe area.. The Home Depots and Lowes only carry Oak, Pine, Poplar and other soft woods. Woodcrafter supply on 74 has some but selection is limited and expensive. I don't want to be planing 4/4 wood down to 2/4, it's a waste of wood. Looking for a store that specializes in hardwoods, Domestic and exotic (legal).

Any help?

Try Queen City Lumber... they're not exactly on the east side of the county, but they'll definitely have what you want (or order it for you).
