Hello,

My husband just got a job in TIAA CREF, we are planning to buy a home. We are relatively new to Charlotte and currently live in Ballantyne, though we would love to stay there because of the excellent school district. We are also looking at other options. I tried to read as much as possible from the previous threads, it is still very confusing.

Please advice besides Ballantyne what are the other areas we could look into, with a manageable commute. I read about Huntersville but the school district is not as good as south Charlotte. Is there any other areas we could look into.

Also if anyone can recommend a realtor, that would be great. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Check out houses on Rocky River road exist on 485 - Lennar and M/I construction. Good Harrisburg schools. There is a plan for hospital in the surrounding areas.
Another place is Christenbury in Concord. Good schools as well.

Those two are in North.

In South, it depends on your budget - 300k to 1 MM. Waxhaw caters to lower budget. Marvin/Ballantyne are good locations too.

All of Mecklenburg has the same school district so you may feel the schools are better there (I don't but I live in Huntersville so there is bias) Just clarifying the point in case some one reads this and gets confused.
