Default Asian Grocery

Are there any asian food markets in the Matthews area. I am looking for a 50lb bag of Thai sticky rice.

I used to run into the Thai House in Harris Blvd at least once a month. They serve sticky rice. Sorely miss Charlotte

You will probably have to venture out of Matthews, I stumbold on a small chinese store in Pineville and found a few items there that I used to buy when I lived in CA. The store is next to Dollar Tree store their address is 8330 Pineville-Matthews, Charlotte, NC 28226. I am going there Tuesday and will check if they have your rice and let you know.. good luck

There is an Indian store which has a huge variety of rice - maybe you could find it there although I have looked there for Thai. The stores name escapes me at the moment - begins with an S but it is next door almost to Roscoe bar on Monroe Road. If you were coming from Matthews (Trade Street) and crossed H51 you would take the second entrance on the right (up a steep driveway) and it's right there in front of you.

These days you can get sticky rice at any Cosco or large food distributer. I buy basmati rice at B.Js. It seems to be fresher at the local stores than at the Indian grocers that I use frequently and have a variety of rice. I wasn't aware of the Indian store in Matthews. I will check it out. I normally use one on South Blvd. near Scalybark Rd.

The only Asian food market I know of is on the corner of Sugar Creek & N Tryon. It is a whole Asian marketplace.
