What is the attraction to areas south charlotte
I have seen much of Charlotte the past several days. Can someone tell me what is drawing people to Weddington, Waxhaw and Union county? I understand the lakes on the north east and west sides of Charlotte. What are the attractions for these areas?

Iredell County up in Lake Norman is suppose to have excellent schools and cheap taxes. I was also wondering why people prefer the south also. I'm curious to see more responses.

you have really missed the hot south area, South Park. Thats the place to be. Great resturants, shopping, movies, medical and rapid residential appreciation. Be anywhere in 5 minutes

I've been there, it's nice, It's nothing spectacular to me it's a mall. It's not enough to make me buy a house down there. It's a nice mall in a nice area and nice restaurants. I like that Maggiano's Italian Restaurant at South Park.
I prefer the Lake. It's relaxing being able to pop up to one of these lakeside bar and grills and grab a snack and look out at the lake and the boats. That's just me, it all depends on what you prefer.

SouthPark is the name of the mall in that area - but Southpark is also the name of the neighborhood There is much more to Southpark than just the mall! It is extremely desirable for its close in location (you can be in uptown in less than 15 minutes with a much better, easier commute than coming from anywhere north of the city) and its schools - especially Myers Park High School which sits right in the middle between Southpark and Myers Park neighborhood.
