We are looking to visit Charlotte the in March to look at rental properties. We pretty much know what we want but how is the best way to go about it. We need a nice place within walking distance of the city and cafes. We need a w/d in the place and just space! Just not sure where to start looking at this point and we would like to have a game plan before heading down.
TIA

Do you mean walking distance of Uptown/downtown? Or just within walking distance of amenities? You can be in a lot of places in Charlotte and be within walking distance of "town". Also, as Loves asked above, where will you be working? If not Uptown, being within walking distance of Uptown could be a little or a lot of a commute, depending on where you will be working.

i would say it depends. We want certain ammenties and location is really key as well. I would say 1000 or less if possible. Also I will be attending grad school uncc and he is working for a finance institute. if that helps.
TIA

Well, not knowing what amenities you want to be close to, and considering your price range, the fact that you are going to UNC and assuming that your husband's finance company is uptown (TIAA-CREF is a "finance institute" that is in the University area and there are some in South Charlotte), I can only make general recommendations. You will have a very difficult time finding anything in your price range within walking distance of Uptown. For convenience and access to UNC, you should take a look in the University area (Mallard Creek Church Rd, WT Harris Blvd) when you are here - there are a number of areas that have centers with shopping, eating, etc.

yup we are willing to go higher if the place is right. amenities would be pet friendly, w/d, dishwasher and closet space. We would rather not live in a complex if possible. And of course the walking would be nice.
