Oakhurst is okay but there are much nicer neighborhoods around Cornelius (and yes I live in Oakhurst..hence the sex offender down the street from me )

I have so many friends in Oakhurst (and I own a townhome there that I now rent out) who have kids and love it. Is the offender off of Washam, not actually in the neighborhood, though?

Seriously, that problem is EVERYWHERE. What I was saying is that Oakhurst is beautiful, and the poster was considering Heritage Green, also a Gandy community. So, based on that price range, Oakhurst would be the best choice. The other neighborhoods in Cornelius are more expensive (it is one of the "richest" zip codes in the Charlotte metro according to the Biz Journal, hence high prices and neighborhoods with large homes). Caldwell Station is not as pretty or established, and neither is the new neighborhood off of Westmoreland. And that's about all that's available in that price range in Cornelius....

yes..he is in the neighborhood on my street..we live on one of the best streets in the neighborhood too sadly...BUT his house is for sale. I agree for the price compared to HG it is better but I wouldn't say it is beautiful ;-) We don't own a gandy house (we have a turnberry) and never would..have heard nothing but bad things about them from our neighbors (Gandy homes) captains point is nice and some less expensive houses there, not many though (I think I just saw one for sale)

PS-- I think your neighborhood is beautiful compared to HG, that should make you feel good!!!

Sure!

It's on the Meck. Co Sheriff's site:

Here's the search page: http://mcsowebsvr.co.mecklenburg.nc.us/pasom/search.aspx (broken link)

Here's the sex offender page with other options:

http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/MCSO/Victim+Services/Sex+Offender+Information+and+Search.htm (broken link)

NOTE: For some reason this forum puts URL tags around a web address when posted, yet it does not come up as a link. SO: copy and paste but leave off the and (broken link) when pasting in your browser....

Default I live in Concord

I live in Concord in Poplar Woods subdv and will be putting my house on the market within 1 -2mths. This neighborhood sells pretty fast. My bestfriend lives in Riverwalk. The Beckwith homes are nice. If you are looking in the price range of the high 200's and havent bought by 4/07 my house could be an option for you. I have something very hard to find in the area. A .54 acre treed private backkyard culdesac lot 3113 sq ft. 4br w/bonus 3 full baths. Brick front, granite counters, prefinished hardwoods all downstairs excep kitchen and bedroom. Travertine floors in kitchen. Will have new carpet upstairs before I put it up for sale. I am a realtor.

So, we’re down to 2 houses that are very similar.

One is in Concord, Riverwalk neighborhood and close to the track. That doesn't bother me, but it is right next door to a trailer park, am I being too picky with that concern?

The other is in Heritage Green in Cornelius. Seems like a nice neighborhood, a little large, but very nice.

We didn't get to look around Concord at all besides visiting the track so have little to no idea of that town.

Thoughts? Input? Anything is appreciated.

Thanks all!

A friend of mine just purchased in Heritage Green. She seemed to like it very much.
