Sewer plant at critical point: Union County's largest facility beset by frequent overflows, state moratorium
Moderator cut: Provide a link instead of copying everything here, please
The Twelve Mile Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility is Union's largest. Currently, it has the capacity to treat 2.5 million gallons per day (MGD) of sewage.
Here and I thought MGD was Miller Genuine Draft. My thoughts exactly.
yes, it is in Cureton directly behind the Harris Teeter and right next to the new houses (hidden by a small berm of plants)- when you drive into Cureton Parkway (Kensington Rd) going to the new Harris Teeter you can't miss it - its the huge facility on your left behind the stores with the giant cranes that are expanding it
Thanks for posting of the article. Although not living close by the treatment facility, it is amazing to find out what a strain all this new construction is causing Union Co.

Because I love Union county I wish so badly there would be a building moratorium for at least one year to give the county time to catch its breath and address some of the problems like this one. I do not understand the lack of conscience on the part of some developers
