Uptown Apartments - Suggestion
Hello,
My wife and I are moving to Charlotte in June and would like to live somewhere in uptown - we prefer to walk around town. We are looking to pay around $1,200 for a 1 bedroom apartment.
Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Uptown Charlotte has more condos for sale than apartments to rent I'm afraid. But in the fringes around the southern end of uptown you can find places to rent - even a great little house or two in that price range. Would you be interested in that, or a duplex style apartment in a very walkable area?

A duplex style apartment in a walkable area would be great. Both of us will be working in uptown and would prefer to live close by within walking distance or close to the Gold Rush.

The Dilworth area is very nice and convenient to uptown. The Goldrush only travels the inner uptown area itself - not where any apartments really are I'm afraid. However, our city buses are very nice, clean and safe. You could hop on one in Dilworth and be in uptown in about 7 minutes.
Check out this link to some nice aparment homes in the heart of Dilworth.

These may be out of your price range, but the location is very close to uptown and the light rail: http://www.southendsquare.com/index.html

You can find a whole lot of condos or townhouses for rent in uptown. Just drive around and you'll see the signs. Check out the First Ward area.

There are some listed on MLS in uptown as well as in Dilworth and Myers Park. PM me if you would like me to send you these listings. Best of luck

Anyway, suggestions: Alpha Mill Apts are brand new (N Caldwell area), Fourth Ward Square, South End Square, The Arbors (8th St), First Ward Pl (8th St), Camden Cotton Mills (5th St), Post Gateway (Cedar st) and Post Uptown (Graham), 5th and Poplar. All in the middle of center city, on or near the Goldrush line, and easy access to all the uptown action. Have fun!!!
