Two questions, unrelated to each other:

1. Will be visiting Charlotte this Spring and am concentrating on both Union County and the Lake Norman area. Does anyone know which of the two attracts more retirees? I am 70 and my wife is 61;

2. This is a tougher one: I read that some of the Lake Norman developments are on a well/septic tank system. Does anyone know which ones and does this hold true for the close-in Union County developments as well?

Thanks.

Some in Union County are -- usually depends on both the age of the home and/or the acreage. Larger acreages are more likely to be on septic. Your realtor can include/exclude listings based on this criterion.

I think the Preserve at Forest Creek and Copper Run are septic and well.

Former NY'er and was leery of the hard clay and what could be involved with such, and preferred city water and sewers. but that's just me

glad to see you are putting in lots of research
