In our Mooresville house, my dh hooked our b-b-q up to our propane because the gas fireplace was right near there! It was great!

I wish I was that handy. If I tried to do anything on the house related to the gas line...well you all would see the resulting mushroom cloud on the evening news

We paid $125ish a year ago and that included 2 shut off valves. I'm guessing they used around 10 ft. of pipe. We used a regular plumber and live in S. Charlotte.

Having worked in the construction industry, here in this area plumbers DO run gas work.
Just last year if you went to PNG right off of South Tryon, you could go in and talk to a sales rep. and they had a list of plumbers who ran gas. From personal experience, the two people that I would call to see if they did gas work would be Bill Hefner Plumbing (Charlotte area) and Ben Hendley Plumbing in Concord. I am not sure if either does gas work any longer, but they are two people that I would fully trust! They are good people.

Best money I have spent since I don't have to lug the propane tank to the store every couple of weeks.
A & G Services did the work, top quality.

This included about 20 feet of black iron piping, 3 90 degree turns, inspections permit and pressure testing. Also I didn't have to spend the extra $30 or so for a propane(LP) tank thats needed for a propane gas grill. Overall it was a good investment for the patio to have a natural gas grill instead of propane.
