Going down for a few job interviews in Mooresville, and I am stressing about the idea of relocating. I hope to get a chance to look around while I'm down there, but I hope that folks can help in suggesting where to look.

Right now I live outside Richmond, VA -- about 30 minutes west in a rural area, on 3 wooded acres, few restrictions, good schools.

If I get a job, my husband will still need to find one . . . so I am hoping to find a place somewhere that is a reasonable commute to both Mooresville and Charlotte. (Reasonable to me is under 45 minutes, preferably closer to 30) Where should I look if I hope to get something fairly equivalent . . . i.e. a few acres & no strict HOAs? I do not care about living near the lake or near shopping.

Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest you check out Troutman or Sherrill's Ford

Sherrills Ford! That's where we live. Quiet out here and takes me 8 minutes to Mooresville and 45 minutes to Charlotte-Douglas airport (via HWY 16).

We love it here, but then again, we love lake living. You can get some off lake multi-acre property in the area for some good prices right now. PM me if you need some more info, I'm always good to help!

Thanks all. I browsed online at some properties in the Sherrills Ford area and it looks pretty promising. I am headed down next week for interviews, so I will take some time to drive around the area while I am there. I'll check out the other areas listed as well.

If I get the job (and accept the job) you can be sure I'll have more questions!

Thanks again.
