In a few days, we're taking a quick weekend trip down to Charlotte as our first "peek" around the area in advance of a relo to take place this summer. We'll most likely concentrate on the South side while we're there, with Ft.Mill/Tega, Union County, and Matthews among the areas we want to check out.

Given these areas... if you were to create a "must see" list of developments to visit, what neighborhoods/builders would you put on it?? Of course, any suggestions outside of our focus areas are welcome as well!
(As a point of reference, we're looking in the $350-$400k range)

In regard to Tega Cay the largest development is LakeShore. There's also many other areas within Tega Cay that have custom builds (Anchorage/Watertrace/Seven Coves are just a few examples).

In Fort Mill...you will have even more selections to choose from (just a few that seem to get alot of attention: Baxter Village/Springfield/The Reserve/Oxford Place).

In another post you had a couple of other questions (stables and airport)

In the Fort Mill/Tega Cay area (York County) we do have horse stables and farms in close proximity.

In addition to the Charlotte Airport to our north...there's also the Rock Hill Airport just 10 minutes to our south. (http://www.cityofrockhill.com/airport/)




Union Cnty and Matthews are also nice areas but I am not as familiar with them.

When you are in the town of Tega Cay, never exceed the speed limit, 30 mph in 35, stop @ stop signs and count to 5 before moving, otherwise you risk a ticket of 300-400 dollars.

Realize this is double posted, but would hate for anyone to visit and get slammed with a ticket, particularly given fine involved and the unethical way the town deals with a "traffic offender".

I know we're north but if you don't find what you're looking for, you might want to take a look at the Lake Norman area, or if you're curious...
