Why do I not find it surprising that some mortgage brokers still try to pull this stuff. I had a guy try to convince me that it was a smart move to pay $8000 in closing costs to save $100 a month on my mortgage payment.

I guess that you won't be around when they close that HELOC and the customer is not able to access any funds....
