Hello, I have some questions about this area:

1. is the combined tax rate 1.1264% ?
2. The schools look really good except for one elementary school that had a really bad rating, anyone know why?

3. Does this area have a decent amount of new construction available?

4. Is this area considered one of the good areas near charlotte? Good meaning safe.

Last question is not specific to Matthews but what are the typical monthly HOA fees in Charlotte?

Thanks all.

Well, that doesn't make sense to me - the info I'm looking at has Crown Pointe at 90% at or above grade level in testing. I don't personally have any experience with this school, but I've never heard anything bad about it.

Hi Loves Mountains, I was talking about the rating given by Great Schools, it was given a 7.

Also, a lot of the test scores are not in the 90s.

Well, I know people are putting a lot of stock in Great Schools, but I do think these kinds of scores don't show the whole picture. I think the best thing you can do is visit potential schools and get a feel for things there yourself.

In addition, Crown Pointe serves the corner of Matthews that is cut off from the larger part of Matthews by Independence Blvd. If you don't buy on that side of the road this school is taken out of the equation.

I agree but being in NY right now makes it difficult, so I figured it was better than nothing. I figured i should ask the locals here and as usual you guys were here to help.

Thank you much.

Oh, and to answer you other questions, Matthews is a very good place to live - very desirable. It is mostly built out now, but there is a little new construction still going on. If you tell me your price range I could make a few suggestions perhaps
