Fancy - Pewter Rose, family cooking San Remo's hands down!!! It is off Central but before 11 AM it is like less than $4 for a great homecooked breakfast. Getting hungry now.
Although I've lurked for some time, I registered this morning based on the strength of my love for Zada Jane's breakfasts!
We live in Asheville but made many visits to Charlotte during the two years my younger daughter lived there. Zada Jane's was always on the "to do" list for breakfast. Vegan options for my daughter, to-die-for French toast (well worth the two-hour drive!), and a great atmosphere.
Don't be put off by how many people are in line--seating goes fast.
We love breakfast places, and our favorite is Original House of Pancakes (NOT IHOP). There's one in the South Park area and also in Midtown by the new Target (what's that place called?). It's a chain but doesn't really feel like one. The Flying Biscuit in Stonecrest is awesome, but it's south Charlotte. We love Mimi's too. We've been wanting to try Pike's Soda Shop for Brunch.
I was just cruising Central Ave. this weekend for the first time in a long time and I noticed Zada Jane's for the first time. Looks like a neat place. Definitely have to try it on a nice day when I can sit outside.
I'll give a +1 rep for Toast Cafe and a +1 for the OPH.
Ok, I gave in today and drove over to Zada Jane's for lunch. My meal was great--chicken sandwich and black eye peas salad were great. You could taste the freshness and the restaurant is very quaint. I will have to go back and try the soyasages for breakfast. Hmmmph, I could still smell the coffee.
Giorgio's in Cramerton or the little restaurant in McAdenville.
Both very good and have livermush!
