Has anyone purchased a Brookwood Home in Yates Meadow in Concord? I have a few questions about the development.

Hi SuperK,
I've been wanting to know this very thing. I will be relocating up this way from Florida, and I really like the Yates Meadow subdivision for numerous reasons: I plan on doing my homework on Brookwood Home builders first though. The plus's so far for me are that they have the ranch style homes with huge bonus room, local to a relatively new elementary school with good reviews (I still have to research that too), the Rocky River runs behind many of the homes so other builders can't build behind you, prices are very reasonable, local to Concord mills mall, and numerous strip plaza mini malls for groceries, restaurants, etc.. I don't like the idea of having a land fill up the road past the highschool, but I would think it's far enough away to not be a nuisance (smell??). Good luck.

We're currently living in a Brookwood development. We were looking at Yates Meadow because it's supposed to have a pool/clubhouse, which we don't currently have. I'm concerned that, after two years, I still haven't seen any evidence of the pool/clubhouse being built.

Where was the bridge out? Is that Concord or is it Harrisburg? And is it Rocky River? I know it's on Moorehead near Rocky River Crossing but not really sure if that's Concord or Harrisburg...

niknaxx & superk,
Sorry didn't know about a bridge out, I work at the other end of Charlotte and haven't purchased a home yet up there yet near the Rocky River. Yates Meadows is still in the running for a purchase. After reading some other threads, looks like I should check out Centex homes communities in Concord, as well as Winding Walk by Shea Homes I believe.

Yes there are days the land fill area smells. Up and down 29 as well as surrounding neighborhoods off Pitt School Rd . I've smelled it many a time driving 29 on my way in or back from work. Meaning you smell it at various times.

I'm not sure if anyone knows which it is There was another bridge out in Concord area too, by Poplar Tent somewhere, I was told damage occured to both bridges due to one storm.

I know one thing, that Moorehead road being closed is a major inconvenience for trying to get from 29 to 49 or vice versa (depending on where you live in Concord or Harrisburg).

The one on Poplar Tent is due to road construction etc.
