One car lease ends in March, the other in October. Looking for a gay or gay friendly automobile salesperson. Still not sure what make or model I'll end up with, or whether I'll buy this time or lease again. Currently drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which I love but I want something more fuel efficient... anyone have any recommendations for a good GLBT salesperson and/or a good vehicle? THANKS!

Just let me check the directory... *flipping past the Fast Food Clerks who hate Eastern Europeans section, skipping over Eskimo hating pole dancers.... ahh yes, here we are...*

Huh, that's strange. It says that car salesmen don't care about your sexuality. They only want your money. I guess that's good news for you!

Not kidding at all. In this tough economy, I prefer to spend my dollars within my own "community" when possible. Why would I want to help finance a salesperson that's going to turn around and use the commission he/she earns from my to donate to a far right wing cause that I wouldn't support?

So we could select to NOT do business with you if we are not Gay friendly? WOW!
I am pretty sure that with the economy going the way it is, the only cause the salesman would be supporting would be HT or Lowes to put food on their table. I could see not buying from a Dealer that comes out against your lifestyle, but to look for someone who does support it seems kinda extreme. JMO.

It's not any more extreme that a woman preferring to look for a knowledgable female salesperson or at least a man that treats her with respect. In other cities there are long lists of gay and gay friendly professionals that actually advertise to the gay market. It's not the only consideration, but it is a starting point.

People can only afford to be bigotted when the economy is going well. I am happy to do a good deal regardless of gender, race or sexual orientation. I will be your friend. A gay friendly dealer will be the one in business. The ones out of business will be blaming plots and foreigners.
Sadly I trade flowers: but if you want some flowers to celebrate your new purchase.

Default Tide turned around

Back in May '08 you were very pleased with the responses rec'd here that CLT was not bias or "segregated" as one poster put it. You expressed your thanks and relief.

I find it "interesting" that you would now like to change that attitude that exists here so as to fit your personal agenda. Perhaps you would like to explain that and leave out the politics. Maybe just a little about your own personal insecurities not the "right wing". Buying a car is not so complicated and it fact it's pretty darn easy these days. Open up a local newpaper and open up your mind, great deals around.

Scheez, it's only a friggen car!
