Yea, the flier thing is annoying, but also these are small business owners. Shouldn't we support them? Or at least, check the flier for a url to establish legitimacy ?

I have had flyers and brochures (as well as menus) put on my door as well as in my newspaper slot from businesses that were long-established.

I admire anyone who is willing to get out and pass the word around about their business! In these tough times, especially, marketing dollars are often scarce or nonexistent . . . so driving around neighborhoods w/ the right demographics to support a particular business is a smart idea, in my opinion. Now, some sloppy hand written unprofessional looking flyer that looks like a kid did it won't impress me . . . but a well done brochure or flyer will at least make me look twice.

And yes - a URL is always a good idea, as are recommendations from any neighbors who may have used the service - always good to include that, too.

I understand and appreciate the need for marketing but I am tired of being bombarded by ads everywhere. Plus the fact that half the time the flier or card comes off my box and into my yard at which point I consider it litter.

I do not appreciate someone taping anything to my mailbox, and lately, that has been happening. I don't mind when something is placed in my newspaper slot. I didn't think anyone was supposed to tape stuff to mailboxes, but it sure has been happening a lot in the last few months.

What? This is horrible! Did this happen here? Did they take her w/ them in their car? Is she okay?

I did find the link and another report I read showed pictures of her face. OMG. They beat her severely. That is sooooo scary - it appears they were gonna kill her!!! No, I had not seen this on the news.

I hope she will be alright. This is a really frightening story.
