Green Peanuts (as in raw, uncooked)
Can anyone tell me when green peanuts are available around here, as in time of year? Also, where do you find them, farmers markets, groceries?
I'm dying for some home-boiled peanuts.
Thanks in advance!

Seems like this would be an item you could find at Home Economist, Fresh Market or Trader Joe's. I have no idea on the time of year though.
You can also order them from peanutman, the in Mid Summer 2009.

OK, just found this in another post, reposting here if anyone is interested. It looks like the Charlotte Farmer's Market may have them year round.

Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Earth Fare...I think you can get them raw just about anywhere, at least around Rock Hill. I don't like 'em boiled, but I love to roast them. Nothing like the smell of fresh roasted peanuts...Memories of Planters on the boardwalk of Atlantic City...

Old topic, but these are now showing up at the regional farmer's market. Seen them there for the last couple of weeks. Perfect for making your own home boiled peanuts. If you like to use a pressure canner (jars) you can make these right in the jar then have them to eat all year long.

I buy green peanuts at Fred Meyer in the bulk food area by all of the organic products.
