I don't know the area that well and am looking for the "fun" parts of the city/area to live. I would like to be within walking distance of shopping, coffee (Starbucks!), restaurants & maybe parks. Anyone have any neighborhood suggestions for me?
Also, if people could point me in the direction of the best property management companies? I plan to rent a small apt for one to two years and then hope to buy a home if I like the area.
thanks all!

Hello Elizabeth, well I think uptown is fun...it's like a brand new city that someone took the wrappers off of. Also (like me) knowing where the nearest Starbucks is real important
. There's a nice starbucks across from Johnson C. Smith university in uptown Charlotte.
The condos are a bit pricey.
As a second alternative to a more suburb feel, you can try the city of Matthews, which has a reall nice shopping center with a nice starbucks I went to many times- I hear they have things like poetry reading, and other "stuff" like that.
