Exclamation Charlotte have any medical jobs?

Hello I am in a situation. I am planning to move to NC soon. I have interest in Biochemistry. I am moving from Virginia (can't stand it here) but I see Raleigh is the medical hub of the state. It appears like Charlotte has the "big city" feel though. I wanted the big city feel (part of the reason I'm leaving Richmond) but from what I've read Raleigh does not offer this.

Can someone tell me why? No matter where I go here I ALWAYS see someone I know. I am starting college soon so I was just wondering what locations offered the big city feel and stil had a good medical community and safe neighborhood. Thanks.

Guess I'm confused...do you mean you want to move SOON, or as soon as you graduate from college in four years? OR, do you want to move and go to school in NC where there is a lot of medical facilities for training???

NC has many great colleges, but out of state tuition can be very expensive, just FYI. Sounds like you might want to figure out which college is the best for the major you plan to pursue and the money you can afford - THEN worry about what city you'll move to when you finish. Don't pick a college based solely on the city it's located in.

Charlotte is not a big scientific research area like Raleigh - Research Triangle Park.

However, UNC Charlotte is getting more involved and are currently building the largest academic bioinformatics department in the country.

There is also the NC Research Campus which is just getting started and that is about 30 minutes from uptown charlotte:
