I know everyone asks this question, but I had specific ones in mind!

I've been living in Charlotte since April and have familiarized myself with a bunch of neighborhoods, but I'm unsure where to live.

I work near Woodlawn and South and my husband works near Billy Graham Pkwy and Tyvola. Occassionally I go to uptown.

We can spend up to 300K, but would rather spend less.

Madison Park neighborhood is perfect location, as it's close to work and all the shopping. And it's not too far from uptown. But I don't know if I want to spend 300K on such small houses with no garages. There's more bang for my buck in SW area like The Crossings and Berewick.

I either have to sacrifice location or sacrifice on size of house.

What are your suggestions for where to live?

As I'm sure you've read before, it really depends what you want. Madison Park going to be a very different vibe and environment than Berewick. I would suggest deciding what's really, really important to you, and how you envision your life to be. Whichever setting matches up better with your vision of the future (or at least the next 5 years or so) will tell you what the best choice is.
I know, it's not actually an answer to your question. However, I don't think anyone but you can answer it. Best of luck, though!

Hey thanks! I just am so confused as to what I want. I wish I could get a Berewick type home IN Madison Park lol. That would be perfect.

I hope by talking this out, I can figure it out!

I hear you on that one! We had to make a similar decision last year, and it was indeed a tough one. Take your time, and consider all your options. I'm glad you're taking it so seriously...it really is a big deal!

It's really all personal preference. If i were considering I would without a doubt go with Madison Park. I like older style homes with mature trees. I'm not too familiar with The other two neighborhoods you mentioned but they sound like they are newer developments. My mother in law has lived in Madison Park since the 60's and has seen rapidly increasing gains in her property over the past few years. Being that it is close in to Southpark and the light rail I would think you would have a better investment in Madison Park. You could always add on a garage in the future.
