Our home has some wood rot and we need to have a good carpenter to fix the problems. Can anyone recommend someone who does GOOD Work and is dependable.

We have had our windows worked on before but needless to say the work was so bad we are now looking again to get the work done correctly.

Hope someone can help us out.

We use a woman named Michelle Roberts of M&M Home Improvements. Her cell # is 704-201-6912. Her email is: mm-homeimp@carolina.rr.com. She and the rest of her crew do very good work. They are currently redoing two bathrooms for us. Besides they are friendly, dependable, reasonably priced and honest. We feel no hesitation about leaving them alone in our house.

Older houses that develop wood rot problems severe enough to be notice in some spots will have similar wood rot problems in other areas that haven't been noticed yet. A carpenter may replace obviously affected wood, but adjoining wood will have a bit of rot fungi eating into those areas even though it looks fine to you and the carpenter. Look on the internet for epoxy impregnating products that can be applied to the remaining wood, or at least the nearby remaining wood, to help it resist further deterioration. Many professional carpenters don't know about these products, but most professional painting contractors do.
