I will be moving to Charlotte in April and will need to get a new BlackBerry. I am trying to determine what service provider I should go with to maximize coverage.

I will work just south of uptown but will travel around South Carolina (Greenville, Charleston, Anderson, Aiken) fairly regularly.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, you can't get T-Mobile so that is out. I have AT&T and their plan is good. But my friends and family members all have Verizon and it appears they have better plans and service.

I've personally used both Verizon Wireless and AT&T for personal. I've used Sprint and Nextel for work. I would say Verizon and AT&T are better than Sprint and Nextel in some areas such as Hickory, Lenoir, Boon, etc. in North Carolina.

I agree. I've had Sprint (compromized coverage) and Verizon which is great. I travel from here up to midwest and very rare that I don't have coverage. I've had every model BBerry except Curve.

I believe Cricket has a Blackberry plan that's pretty good (like $40/mo or something).

I just got a sweet deal from Sprint but I have 4 lines + a data card, and have BES service on all the 4 lines, plus unlimited text, wireless data, and a ton of minutes for about < $200/mo.

My cousin (an engineer in Iowa) did extensive research for me one year and determined that Verizon has the best coverage overall.

I still have Verizon and miss my blackberry! (shut it off for economy)

I've been debating this. AT&T reception / service is always poorly rated. I have Verizon and couldn't be happier

Ani, Why can't they get T-Mobile? Do they not offer Blackberrys?

BTW, shouldn't you buy a pair of Shoes first HAHAHA
