Advertisements

I've seen some billboards around town with those two on it. Apparently they are totally oblivious to this particular criticism.

On the other hand, these adverts must work as they have been on the air now for a long time.

Same here, I keep the remote handy just so I can either mute or change the channel when the Scott Clark commercials come on. Who do you think pays for all those commercials....it is in the cost of the cars they sell.

I detest that My Pillow commercial. I'd give in and buy a pillow, if it would make them stop.

Apple Auto Sales were the best. And the worst.

The old Tidy Bowl commercials with the guy in a row boat paddling around a loo. I think Larry Sprinkle would like to forget about that chapter in his TV career.

Where do you go when your big break is to row around the porcelin god? There's nowhere to go but down.

Or doing the weather in bad suits and ties. (Who dresses that guy in the morning anyway?).

Larry Sprinkle is one of the most popular and longest serving TV personalities in Charlotte. I enjoy his weather reports. That Tidy Bowl ad was years ago, but I don't think he minds discussing an early chapter in his TV career. As well as a stint as a sidekick on the old Murphy in the Morning show on the old WAYS/WROQ radio station. And his suits and ties normally look fine to me.

But it was the late WSOC forecaster Jerry Peterson who wore the colorful attire, and had the big booming presence. I enjoyed his weather reports also, but then WSOC chose to change to a more serious, generic approach rather than folksy and entertaining.

Yep! Don't come a knocking if it's a rockin.

How about those very talented two young ladies at the jewelry store in mooresville. Their dad must own the place to have them doing the add. I am amazed at the stupidity of so many national commercials. I don't like to compare or anything like that, but in the U.K. we can pay extra and skip ads on the tele. But watching the commercial where "they not only stand by their windows, they stand on them" give one a huge appreciation for these talented actors in the ads.

Larry Sprinkle, I believe, had a role as Sonic Man on channel 18 in the late 70s.
