I'm searching for airline tickets for a trip up to NYC on March 2nd. I'm only going to be there for that day (don't ask lol =/ ), therefore I'll be leaving in the morning from Charlotte to LaGuardia and coming back from LaGuardia to Charlotte in the afternoon. I've already been searching the more popular sites like Expedia, Priceline, and the such, but was wondering if anyone here had some advice on getting tickets for the best price. Would it be a good idea to call the airport for ticket prices?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
Usually - the airline websites offer the cheapest available prices. Be advised that once you hit 14 days before your departure date, prices might start going up. Also, most airlines will charge a fee if you book over the phone.
No big deal about going to NYC for a day. I once flew from Baltimore to London, stayed there 26 hours, and then flew back.
BTW - getting you there and back in one day on a cheap ticket . . . I dunno. The cheap tickets I am finding have stops, delaying travel.
What time do you need to arrive and what time can you leave? It would really be better if you can stay over nite. Just found you a ticket for $137, w/ overnite on 2nd.
Or - what about flying in on 1st, staying overnite and then back on 2nd?
Someone told me once to buy tickets at the airline website at 4 AM and you can get really cheap prices. I have never tried it, planned on giving it a go for my next trip. If you do try it will you let me know how it goes? Good luck.
Hey, thanks for the replies. I'm actually going in for a doctor's appointment (specialist) which is scheduled for 10 A.M. I'm going to give their office a call tomorrow and see if there is a later time since a lot of the flights don't get it until 9:30 or so. I'd be willing to stay over a night, say get in Sunday, have the appointment Monday and leave that same day. Just as long as the package isn't more than a round trip ticket for the same day.

If you are definitely looking to fly into Laguardia the you will have to chec US Airways. They have pleanty of different times to chose from. Otherwise if you want to try JFK then i would go with JetBlue. The only bad thing with them is the only have 4-5 flights a day to and from Charlotte.
Some websites i use..
Sidestep.com
Cheapair.com
cheaptickets.com
