Default A new game for Charlotte

Okay. I want to create a new game. And here's the reason.

Many of us are in a sad (and stressful) place these days, b/c of job loss and financial concerns . . . and those of us lucky enuff to still have our jobs, we can't help but worry - will we be next? It is a heavy psychological burden to be carrying around and I believe it is being felt all over our city. It seems to be all we talk about w/ friends and family!

So I thought of a game I would like to create, and "play it" with my friends. Would you help me? Maybe you would like to play this game, too.

I was thinking of a particular friend who was having a down day, and I would like to go "kidnap" her and tell her I am taking her someplace, but not tell her WHERE.

What I would like to ask from you, dear forum members, are ideas for places where one could take a friend . . . for a change of scenery.

For example . . . we can always think of places to go eat. And that is a great thing to do! But I was thinking of places that offer other things to do, not just eat. Like - Carolina Raptor Center. Or the Hezekiah Alexander homestead. Or . . . an historical spot, like the McIntyre Historic Site, where a Revolutionary battle was fought.

Or a greenhouse. Or a place where one can make pottery. Or jewelry.

Or a neat antiques/junque shop.

I need suggestions for my "kidnapped in Charlotte" game. Any ideas? Great places to take some photos? Or have a picnic? Or take a nice long walk? Sit by a lake and feed some ducks?

Can you help me out?

sounds like fun....

Let's see, you could visit...

* Daniel Stowe Gardens

* go to Mooresville and take ride on the Catawba Queen and maybe have lunch

*DH and I enjoy riding out to T-bones on Lake Wylie people/boat watching

just a few ideas, I will keep thinking on it.

Oh yes, Daniel Stowe. I am gonna take my momma there as soon as she feels like a day out! And having lunch on Catawba Queen - another relaxing idea. Did that this past August and really did enjoy it.

Haven't been to T-Bones. Gonna check that out!

Great ideas - keep 'em coming! Thank you, Kitty!

If I played that game, authorities would probably start looking at the bottom of Lake Norman after a few days....

It was a joke...no wisecracks from any of you.

For something close to home, try the pond behind the Arboretum. It's usually quiet and there are always birds to watch by the fountain.
Dish it Out is a cute pottery-painting place...there's at least one location. The one I know of is in Stonecrest.
