We finally went to the Dim Sum place in Charlotte (Central Avenue) for lunch today. It is quite pricey, as expected, but it is really good. Very fresh dim sum.
I went with Chinese friends, but it would have been ok to go and speak English too I think. There seemed to be quite a few tables with only English speakers sitting at them.

Just thought I would give a report.
We will be going again.

What were the prices like??? DH loves DIm Sum. When he worked in NYC/Chinatown area he ate alot of Dim Sum.
I don't think it's that expensive as far as dim sum goes. We go regularly, was $35 for four people last time, I think -- seems like it's usually around $10/person for us. Individual dishes (2 buns, 3 or 4 dumplings) are $2-3, except for special things like roast duck or pork that cost more.
Waiters speak better english than in Chinatown, so no surprises if you don't speak chinese. They usually don't even offer us non-Chinese items like phoenix claw (chicken feet), although they're in the cart. It's quite good. Still need to try the place in the Asian mall at N. Tryon and Sugar Creek.

That would be Dragon Court. I prefer them over "Dim Sum" on Central for Dim Sum. A little more laid back, and maybe more "diner friendly" for someone not familiar with the ordering process or the mysterious contents of the carts. On the way out, we always grab a "Banh Mi" (really tasty Vietnamese sandwich) to take home, from the shop in the mall.

Hey all, I'm looking for Dim Sum in Charlotte, and this place seems to be the only game in town today - does anyone have any recent experiences with it, and are there any other dim sum places I should be checking out?
TIA
