Hi,
Im wondering about the difference of taxes across the state line.

For instance, is sales tax the same and is clothing taxed in both states?

I heard something about a car tax. Is it same for nc and sc, and how does it work?

Is there any complication (income tax wise) of working in Charlotte and living in SC?

Anything else I should know in general?

Hi,getmeout,I am in morris county, whee are you? I think I can answer one of your question on car tax.If I am wrong, someone will correct me I am sure.In South Carolina,I believe there is a cap on car tax. The most you have to pay is $300.00.I saw this on a motorcycle site,so do not take that to be 100% accurate until someone from that state chime in.

This the cap on sales tax not on the property tax itself. As far as other taxes, a change in tax law was passed last year for this year.

Here is a post on this forum to explain the tax law on homes.
