Very nice article wh/ I had not seen - and very much appreciate your sharing with us, John.
I agree. Lewis should go. Ken Lewis's decisions affected a lot more than a bank and it stockholders. His imprudent judgement calls on ML have resulted in lives turned upside down - not only here in Charlotte - but across the nation, as workers face lay-offs and cutbacks. And those job losses then trickle down into the community and through neighborhoods.
Mortgage bankers who handed out subprime and Alt-A loans like candy were living the same life at the office that American society has come to accept: we are a debtor nation. Ken Lewis's decisions were blinded by personal ambition and greed - and have helped create a nation with less assets - and often - insurmountable debt.
It is more than a sad story. It is a damn tragedy when you look at how Lewis's decisions have affected so many lives in such a profoundly negative manner.

After he was "grilled" by the NY Attorney General, he looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Now, he'll be "barbecued" by the shareholders! Wasn't it a long way down?
