Are we so caught up in name brands that every stinking aspect of our lives has to have a label on it? Seriously, I've been to South Park 1 time in 2 years- and that was to see the symphony. Perhaps the whole world could get along better if we were all a little less self absorbed, and a little more conscious that money aint everything!!!
Thousands do care about quality places like Macys, Nordstroms, Hechts, etc. The person asked about malls. Your likes, dislikes, and philosophies were't solicited. Hoagie just asked a legitimate question and deserves a liegitmate answer relating to the question. I think that we would all get along better if we would respect the rights of others to ask legitimate question.

The large one in NYC never seemed that nice to me, and honestly I have never been to the one at Southpark.
But I have been going to Southpark since it opened, I used to ride my bike there as a child and eat at the Woolworth's or Eckerd's food counter.
Those were the days!

I was just saying the name changed...
I agree with you. I never considered Macys upscale. I catagorized it with Belks and other department stores. I suppose if one is a Big Lots customer, it would be upscale?

I also do not consider Macy's to be upscale. Many years ago, I loved Bambergers, which was a division of Macy's. Great quality at great prices. When Bambergers was eliminated, prices rose & quality did a nose dive. I have tried it occasionally, but prefer other places.

I've gotten items at Kohl's that others have mistaken as coming from Macy's.

No, why would they build a mall Uptown? It would be nice to have a street with retail, but not an indoor mall. Retail will eventually come back Uptown as more residential towers are built.

Why not...might not be enclosed...but the Epicentre is going to have 3 levels of shopping...Uptown & inner-city residents need shopping. There is alot of money in Uptown & inner-city.

Trump is also planning on high end retail too in his towers...can't wait...and hope it actually does come.

Is the OP for real...a city the size of Charlotte and they are asking if Charlotte has malls?...lol

I want retail, but not a shopping mall (like Carolina Place, for example) Uptown.

I agree...plus there is no room for a large mall Uptown...there isn't much land left in the I-277 Loop.
