I just paid $33.33 (incl tax) today at Valvoline Instant Oil Change. It would have cost $38 but I used a $5 coupon. You can print a coupon and locate at this website www.vioc.com . Oil price/barrel have gone up since the days of $19.99 oil changes
Thank you all for the suggestion and tips.
I have a camry with 289k miles on it.
If I am not mistaken you can drive further than the ask oil change on the sticker and I usually go over about 2k -3k miles . I travel alot for work like tomorrow Ill be putting on 400 miles and I like to have it changed before long trips such as mention. Ill check the various companies websites for coupons.
This is a great knowledgeable thread.
How timely is this thread - I was planning to get an oil change tomorrow! I am curious if anyone else thinks it is more expensive to get an oil change here than elsewhere. I used to pay between $15 - $20 to get the oil changed & tires rotated before I moved here.
honda charges me 19.95, plus checks everything and a free car wash. Sometime I get an email and
get 5.00 more off. One dealer gives you the 6th one free after 5. The local dealer always has specials you print also when you go there. That often
saves a bit.
I get my oil changed at Walmart while I shop. A 15-point inspection and oil change, includes filling of all fluids, test lights, test battery, vacuum interior, clean windshield, check tire pressure, costs me $30.
Where is this Wallmart,? and do all of them do all this for $30 that is a deal and is there a good day to go.
I guess it depends on your car, but I know that my car takes full synthetic which costs more (I will also only use Castrol Syntec, lol). A 5 qt bottle of this stuff at Wal-Mart cost me $25.00 3 days ago.
I generally go to Precision Tune in Gastonia, take the oil, use a coupon for $14.90, and go get my oil changed. You can go to their website here: Car Repair, Oil Change and Tune Up at Your Local Precision Tune.
Click on "Coupons" tab on the appropriate service station on the right and there is pretty much always an "oil change" coupon there for $14.90.

What year is a Camry, if you don't mind me asking? With my experiences, I have found Camrys to be one of the more mechanically sound cars out there.

I had a friend who had a timing chain/belt go at 100k miles on a 98 camry. Its kind of sad that once they go its the end of the life for the engine.
