Question Weekend trip

Any one has any suggestions as to where to take 3 wild friends in their 40's coming for a weekend trip? They a rowdy bunch! They would enjoy going to a "happening" bar at night, and I like to show them around lake Norman, but I am so new, I don't even know where to start. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Definitely hit "The Boardwalk" in Charlotte. There's Boardwalk Billys, always a great place. Here's the info:

University Place Location in North Charlotte
The Shoppes at University Place

704-503-7427
9005 J.M. Keynes Dr.
Charlotte, NC 28262
(Next To The Paddle Boats)

Coyote Joe's is fairly crazy....especially if you'd like to give your buds a flavor of country music. They have a website.

Vinnie's Sardine/Raw Bar in Matthews has that real down and dirty appeal if you're into seeing bikers as well as golfers belly up to the bar. It can be quite an ironic scene...

I'd recommend the NoDa area. There are several places there to eat and several places to bar hop. Its a pretty vibrant little area on the weekends with people walking around and hanging outside the bars. And the crowds are a little older than what you find in Uptown. The website for the area is noda.org

Also Mickey and Mooch's Arboretum location is "supposed" to be the big hang out on the Southside for the 40 set. I've been there to eat and I love the food. I can recall each time I've been that the bar was very "jumping", but I've never been there to hang out specifically. But it might be worth a shot. Their website is mickeyandmooch.com/

And you know, I haven't been, and I can't recall the names, but there are suposed to be two places in Ballantyne that cater to 40 something year-old crowds too. Maybe someone else on the boards knows, or maybe you can ask around.
