Yes Concord would be better or you could head further up I 77 say exit 28 you would have a much shorter commute

I would never do that commute. I would guess it would be 45-60 minutes with minimal traffic on the way to work and 75 minutes going back to Huntersville.

I would also guess 45 - 60 minutes, perhaps more with traffic. You would take Hwy 73 to I-85 North to get to Salisbury. I-85 runs through Concord so that is why it may be easier. Depending on where you are coming from in Concord it could take 30 -35 minutes.

Why don't you look at living in Salisbury?

Another viable option might (and I stress, might) be from Mooresville to Salisbury along Highway 152.

H-ville to Salisbury is a rough commute. If you could get into eastern H-ville by Concord or Kannapolis it wouldn't be so bad. Cut over to 85 then take 85N

Great complex! My brother lived there for many years.

Another thought, since it would put you closer to Salisbury and away from the Concord Mills traffic, is Afton Village. No apartments per se, but I believe that you can rent a townhome or condominium.
