Finally I've found a thread about the so called 'turbo' service from TWC..

I went on speedtest.net and got this

Now to be honest. The max that I've seen my download speeds go was 2.2mb/sec. I deciding whether or not to call them and ask why it isn't 5+.

I just bought a brand new house and its not located in a subdivision but on a road off of a main road.. Don't know how to better explain that haha.

I've got roadrunner with turbo. I can get download speeds of up to 20 meg if the network is not busy but they'll only gaurantee 10 meg. Upload speed maxes out at 512k(averages about 486k for me) unless you go with a business plan which is outrageous, 2m x 2m was $199 month with a 2 yr commitment last time I checked.

I actually just went to speedtest.net and running a test to Greensboro, I get 25.5 meg down and .4 meg up.

I can attest to the burst speeds when I had Time Warner Turbo Road Runner. Using Speed test on April 20th (Prior to Switching to AT&T UVerse) I saw these speeds...

Charlotte to DC - 15.69Mbps Down / .48 Mbps Up
Charlotte Atlanta - 16.29 Mbps Down / .46 Mbps Up
Charlotte to Los Angelas - 14.00 Mbps Down / .47 Mbps Up

With Uverse Speedtest gives me similar results but the Upspeeds are MUCH better

Charlotte to Atlanta 16.46 Down / 1.47 up
Charlotte to DC 14.64 Down / 1.47 Up
Charlotte to LA - 14.24 Down / 1.38 Up

By the way, I live in Cheshunt and Uverse has been available here since about the 20th, I switched the moment they told me I could. 4 Tuner DVR Heaven Rocks!

Here's what mine said:

Although, it never seems like I have a super-fast connection speed, so I guess it's also a function of the particular website / server, memory of my own computer (I'm thinking that could be why my download speed is great, while my upload speed is slower, maybe?), cyber traffic, etc. I dunno...I'm no expert on this stuff.

Would changing either way- like going to DSL or going to RR turbo (which, up until now, I'd never heard of)- make a huge difference if my computer processor, available RAM, graphics card, etc. stayed the same? How much of internet speed is a function of those other things? Anyone know?

I'm only getting about 1MB down and .25 up. I live in an aparment and we get a discount on our service. I don't think that's fast enough even for RR lite or basic or whatever. I called TW and they said I'm paying for Turbo with Powerboost. The way you guys put it, I should be seeing much higher speeds. What can i do to make sure i'm getting the speed i'm supposed to be paying for?

Testing this out to see if it works, it's the results of my latest test to the Greensboro Server using At&T U-Verse Internet which is advertised at 18Mbs down and 1.5Mbs Up.
