Hello all,

Can any one tell me where around Charlotte I may find an asian shoji screen for purchase? There are 'ebay stores' and even Walmart and Target sells them - but only online. I'm in a time crunch (out of town visitors coming) and need one ASAP. Hey......I just had a thought; Craigslist Other than that, any advice is well appreciated.

Thanks,

Cincynurse

Hi Cheesehead (lol),

Funny you mention World Market....yes, I had a light bulb moment after I sent my question to the forum. I went to World Market this afternoon as well as Pier 1 Imports (both in University City). Both stores had a good assortment of shoji/room dividers I shop at World Market quite often and I have NO IDEA why I didn't think of going there in the first place Pier 1 had the better looking ones though (some were hand painted!).

Thanks though for the suggestion . Have a good rest of the day

Default Shoji screen.......Used Ok?

I saw a Shoji screen (left corner after you go in the front door) at Consignment First this past weekend.....they are located at Sam Newell Road and Independence. I think it was for about sixty dollars (not positive about that). There was another screen there........it was very tall, made of wood and could be painted a different color. Hopefully, if it is what you wanted and could use...it is still there. Good Luck!

Good morning Sylbeth,

Used would be just fine - especially if it's not only in great shape but will save me good handful of money I had planned to go to Consignment First today (we have a location here in University City), but if they don't have anything there I just may venture out to the location you have mentioned

Thank you for your helpful reply Have a good day.

Default Screen at Consignment First

You may want to call them the first thing this morning...at the location that I gave you last night. All of the locations have different things in them, but I "know" that I saw two screens at this location Saturday. The first screen was a Shoji screen.....black frame with rice paper...and what looked like a tree branch design going through it...in the color of perhaps rust. I hope that if it is what you want....it will still be there. Again...Good Luck!!
