Glad you had a good trip!

NoDa is the Arts District located along North Davidson Street. BTW, Price's Chicken Coop has more than fried chicken - menu.

Great old southern restaurants have faded away. I used to love Jimmy's, Andersons, Plantation Grill, numerous fish camps, BBQ places that actually sold good Carolina BBQ, and other local venues that are now gone. Even Athens Restaurant on Independence is gone. I can't really tell how good the food was only that I ate there many times in the 60s while trying to sober up enough to go home. I am not unhapppy with what we have now, but it is too bad some of the older, more southern restaurants aren't still around. Deep fried frozen chicken just don't do it for me these days.

another great bbq place is Troutman's in Concord...I grew up on that stuff..I wish Charlotte had a real bbq place like that..Spoons on South Blvd is decent..and Mac's is ok..it's a little overrated IMHO (bbq wise..atmosphere is great)

The Piedmont on South Blvd is a great little greek owned place too
