Can anyone give me an idea about the costs associated with having a backyard graded (or a big part of a backyard graded)? I have decent sized hill and would like to flatten it out a bit so I can add a small play area/concrete patio/landscaping etc.

I would love to hear everyone's experiences with their grading.

Thanks!

It depends on how much you need to grade and where the water runoff will go. If you carve out a hill and put a play area there you have to redirect the water, otherwise you'll have a swampy play area. That's where the expense differences can be drastic.
