Movies (Charlotte, Matthews, Tryon: how much, home, buy)

Here is a thought I was thinking...think think think as pooh bear would say. Do the malls have movie theaters? or are they free standing. Also which is the nicest one in Charlotte and Union County and the most impotant question is how much is admission. Here in Brooklyn Monday-Friday any show before 5 is 7.50 for anyone and there after 10.50 an adult and 7.50 a child saturday first showings are also 7.50 then the prices go up and Sunday there are no breaks. Just curious if it will run us less there then here for a family of four. Did I mention a small popcorn is 5.50 here!!

oooh good ??? We have free standing and in the malls, here in VA, IMO it is all too expensive so we wait for it to come out on dvd unless we want to really experience that theatre feel and have extra bucks... LOL

I like the new theatre in Ayrsley on 49 (Tryon). I think it's called the Ayrsley Grand. It seems to be the cheapest, and cleanest. The teenagers who tend to discrupt and take over haven't seem to found out about this location yet which makes it more peaceful!!!

Cinder I guess it's expensive in all cities, sad that you can't take the kids out without it being a 45 dollar evening. Here we still mange to sneak snacks in and save ourselves money that way. I mean HECK a bottle of water is 3.50 tell me that isn't insane!

I know! We easily spend 50 dollars to go to the movies the 4 of us... to a matinee!!

The AMC 14 theatre is right next to Northlake Mall. Ticket prices vary depending on the time of day, but if you go before noon, I believe that the tickets are only $4.00. Also, students get a discount.

Of course, concession prices stay the same ...

My teens have gone to Cinemark 10 Movies in Matthews (we used to call this the "dollar movies," but I see they are now $1.75.

Hey, we frequent this place on Friday nights - a great deal for movies that have only been out a month or two. And for the cost savings I can wait that long to see a new one

The movies are too expensive these days. Buy a home theater system, you'll make up the cost for it real quick.
